So why do we want a 3 day detox for our bodies?

It is estimated that within the next five years, one out of two Americans will eventually succumb to heart disease, and one out of three to cancer. Today one out of eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. More than 85% of these cases are not genetically linked. They are a result of your diet. A diet is anything you put into your mouth:

  • Food
  • Beverages
  • What penetrates your skin
  • The air you breath

What are the bad foods that you eat every day:

  • Pesticides
  • Chemicals
  • Fertilizers
  • Hormones
  • Food colorings

Then there is the issue with commercial soils that are over-farmed, deficient in vital minerals, and undernourished. The cost to a farmer to put back the minerals and nutrients are too expensive. So your body ends up as a chemical depository.

But do not despair, as a quick solution would be a 3 Day Detox program.

This flush will clean out all those harmful chemicals that are being stored in your body. The other benefit of a detox is that you will definitely lose weight, which is something most of us need to do. Before starting a 3 Day Detox, it is recommended that you just make sure that you do a sea salt colon cleanse before starting, which will consist of the following:

  • 1 tall glass of warm water
  • a table spoon of sea salt

This will get you get you started on your cleansing. Next, to start your 3 day detox, your diet will consist of the following foods:

  • eat only fresh steamed veggies
  • no butter no oils
  • only pepper no salt
  • Drink a juice twice daily AM & PM for the three days of 1 papaya, 1 tomato, 1 white grapefruit, 1 lemon, 1 lime, 1 jalepeno chile (minus the seeds)
  • a fat reducer pill (wal-mart ( Chrominum Picolonate) about $7) put 12 of these in the blender, while making my juice
  • 1 raw beet
  • bottled water to make it drinkable

Make yourself salads with raw beet (they actually taste pretty good, if you chop them-up in small pieces, and use balsamic vinegar and no-salt spices to make yourself great salads. NO dairy products, no meat, no colored or carbonated beverages for the three days. Keep near the bathroom, too!!

The next question is what you should you eat after the 3 day detox? The answer is you are clear to eat what you please (no more just fruits/veggies) but it has to be healthy. Don’t finish the detox and dive into a bag of McDonald’s. Just eat food like whole grain toast w/ peanut butter, fruits, vegetables, juices, whole grain cereal, lean meats, etc. Also, when you come off of the detox, eat very small meals since your stomach isn’t used to going without food for that long period of time, otherwise it will make you sick.

In addition to the above, cutting meat out of your diet will help clean out your system and keep things “running.” Meat stays in your system for about 200 hours…backing up everything….Try and eat a lot of fiber. This will also keep everything moving through your body so you don’t hold excess weight and undesirable chemicals in your digestive track.

Consider what your lifestyle will allow and what approach will give you the most success after coming off your 3 day detox. You will get a better result if you work at reducing your intake of “toxic” or poor choices over the long haul. For instance, reducing your consumption of fatty, processed, dyed foods, tobacco and so on EACH DAY will help your body more, than just giving the stuff up for a few days.
